The newly established Belt & Road Center will coordinate the research, the scientific cooperation, the inter-university relations and the teacher and student exchange programs within the One Belt One Road Initiative in the Central and Eastern European region.
The Chinese leadership announced the One Belt One Road program in 2013 with the aim of strengthening the relations of the countries along the Ancient Silk Road and increase their trade with improvements, including infrastructure development. The Central and Eastern European region is one of the destinations of the New Silk Road – the networks starting from China reach Europe here, so the importance of the region requires the coordination of scientific cooperation related to the Initiative.
Founded by Pallas Athéné Foundations, the Belt & Road Centre will coordinate the scientific activities performed in the countries of the region concerning the One Belt One Road Program and collect the research and information related to the project.
The scientific and professional work of the Centre is performed by Pallas Athéné Geopolitical Foundation, while the inter-university contacts as well as the teacher and student exchanges are coordinated by Pallas Athéné Domus Mentis Foundation and John von Neumann University.
